Famous Stones Report
No, it’s not white like chalk! It is the famous emerald: the chalk emerald just takes the surname of a previous owner. Deep green in colour with superb clarity, its 37.82 carats (7.680 g) were cut down from an original 38.4 carats (7.680 g). Generally attributed a Colombian origin, it was first famous in India before its incorporation into a ring surrounded by 60 pear-shaped diamonds. This ring by Harry Winston Inc. has been on display in the Smithsonian Institute since 1972. To this day, this emerald stands out as a top example of the traditional birthstone of May!
